Application Requirements

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into degree programmes on a full-time basis in the following programmes of the University:

General Requirements

The minimum entry requirements for admission into Covenant University are credit level passes in five (5) subjects at the SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects passed must include English Language and Mathematics. Candidates are also to note that there are other requirements that may be specific to a College and/or a Department.

Jamb Pre-Requisite

Candidates (National) applying to Covenant University are required to sit for the 2018/2019 UTME examination of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and attain the prescribed cut-off mark. This is a statutory requirement for entry into Nigerian Universities. Candidates are required to apply for programmes of their choice by filling the 2018/2019 JAMB registration forms. Applicants are strongly advised to ensure that their UTME subject combination qualifies them for their chosen programme. Any candidate desiring to apply for a change of course after filling the forms must make their application to JAMB before the release of the 2018 UTME results.

In addition to the above, Covenant University conducts screening exercise for all candidates seeking admission to the University and applicants may not be admitted without fulfilling the demands of the screening exercise.

CLDS Programmes

English

This four year degree programme aims to provide a historically-grounded overview of the literature of all periods, together with opportunities to specialize in particular periods of literature, in modern English language, and in non-period classes. Students are encouraged to develop their own interests and may choose from a wide variety of specialisms.

Duration: 4 years,  Degree: BA. Requirements: Candidates must possess credit pass in five (5)  subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Literature-in-English and any other two (2) Subject.

International Relations

This dynamic course focuses on current international topics and subjects, covering the fields of political theory, international relations theory, foreign policy, strategic studies and political history.

Duration: 4 years,  Degree: B.Sc. Requirements: Candidates must possess credit pass in five (5)  subjects including Mathematics, English Language, History or Government or Civic Education and any other two (2) Subjects.

Policy and Strategic Studies

A student who wishes to enrich his or her understanding on how policies are formulated and implemented, this kind of degree programme will fit his or her desires. It is designed for emerging leaders in law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, such student will examine how to develop effective strategic plans that can boost organization’s mission and vision, also, adhere to federal, state, and local policies.

Political Science

Students who are interested in politics, history, law, political science, or journalism, should be interested in a degree programme in political science.
