Application Requirements

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into degree programmes on a full-time basis in the following programmes of the University:

General Requirements

The minimum entry requirements for admission into Covenant University are credit level passes in five (5) subjects at the SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO or its equivalent, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects passed must include English Language and Mathematics. Candidates are also to note that there are other requirements that may be specific to a College and/or a Department.

Jamb Pre-Requisite

Candidates (National) applying to Covenant University are required to have taken  the 2022/2023 UTME examination of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and attain the prescribed cut-off mark. This is a statutory requirement for entry into Nigerian Universities. Candidates are required to apply for programmes of their choice by filling the 2022/2023 JAMB registration forms. Applicants are strongly advised to ensure that their UTME subject combination qualifies them for their chosen programme. Any candidate desiring to apply for a change of course after filling the forms must make their application to JAMB before the release of the 2022 UTME results.

In addition to the above, Covenant University conducts screening exercise for all candidates seeking admission to the University and applicants may not be admitted without fulfilling the demands of the screening exercise.

 

Degree Programmes

All courses in Covenant University are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Candidates seeking admission to any of the Engineering programmes must have obtained at least five (5) credit passes in the SSCE/GCE 0‘Level/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent, obtained in not more than two (2) sittings prior to the resumption date. The five (5) credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language and Physics and Chemistry. The degree programmes available in Engineering and their respective additional entry requirements are as follows:

CoE Programmes

Chemical Engineering

Students will study and examine the fundamentals of industrial chemical processes that transform raw materials into useful products. They will learn how to apply this knowledge to create and optimize chemical processes and products that are efficient, high-quality, environmentally safe, and can improve the society.

Duration: 5 years, Degree: B.Eng.
Requirements: Candidates must possess credit passes in five (5) subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing or Biology. A credit pass in Further Mathematics will be an added advantage.

JAMB Subject Combination: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
